Lisa Shilling

Owner

Lisa has had a lifetime love of horses. For over 25 years she has enjoyed riding, training and sharing her life with them. While Arabians have always been her first love, very recently she purchased her first Morgan, GoGo. Lisa was inspired to open her own facility when she tragically lost her beloved Arabian, Seven, to laminitis. This loss helped her recognize that a keen eye to the details of horse keeping makes a huge difference in overall health and well-being for her charges. She is dedicated to making JVR the best boarding facility it can be, constantly striving to improve the care as well as the overall condition and amenities of the facility.

Seven’s Haven “lives” at JVR and was conceived by Lisa as a shelter to give unwanted horses a second chance at life. Once these horses are healthy, they are utilized to make a difference in the lives of children fighting life threatening diseases through such charities as the Ronald McDonald House.

Recently, Lisa has embraced the show circuit. She is enjoying competing with her horses and meeting other riders in the area who share her enthusiasm.

Holly Gellner

Lead Trainer

We are fortunate to have Holly Gellner as our resident trainer at Jackson Valley Ranch. She has been professionally training for 18 years, 15 of which have been in the Monroe, Duvall area. Holly comes from a varied background in the horse world including Morgan, Arabian and Dressage show circuits. She specializes in amateurs and Jr. riders with an emphasis on safety and having fun.

Holly was raised in a horse family, as both of her parents were trainers as well. Her disciplines of choice include Hunter & Western pleasure, Saddle seat & Harness horses. She also gives lessons in entry level dressage (intro-1 level), as well as western dressage. She uses entry level dressage concepts on all of her horses to establish a strong and healthy horse, both mentally and physically. She enjoys taking dressage lessons herself, and finds that it keeps her lesson program fresh and full of new ideas.

Holly also enjoys sharing her knowledge with her family, her husband Scott & 2 children, Isabelle (6), and Lane (4). The horses are a fun way for her family to spend time together doing something they all love. When she's not at JVR, Holly enjoys cooking and spending time working on her family’s small farm just 5 minutes from JVR in Duvall.
